Abstract

The aim of this work is to highlight the impact of the leach ate generated by the uncontrolled discharge of El Mechmes in El Harrouch (Skikda) on the quality of water resources and the environment. As part of this work, components in leach ate collection of underground and surface water have been carried out monthly since 2011 on nearly 20 points downstream and at the landfill site. The results obtained show a significant pollutant load carried by leach ate discharge (BOD5 = 880mg / l), (COD = 1185.6 mg O2 / l), (pH = 9), they also show a significant qualitative degradation of water and soil resources.
