Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • The text is 1.5-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines,

Please read and follow these recommendations carefully, the Editor-in-chief has the right to return manuscripts that are not prepared in accordance with these recommendations.

Authors are encouraged to use journal template when preparing their manuscript. This will speed up the publication process.

The journal of fundamental and applied sciences receives and publishes articles, notes, or short communications dealing with issues of fundamental and applied science which the results of studies may interest all researchers. Manuscripts must be submitted with the understanding that they have not been published elsewhere (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture, review, or thesis) and are not currently under consideration by another journal.

The Journal of fundamental and applied sciences accepts only electronic submissions sent via the Open Journal Systems (OJS). Manuscripts must be in a form of a single Word file. Authors are recommended to consult the back issues of the journal for the form and style of published articles.

Publication Language

The language of publication of articles is English (encouraged) or French.

Submission of manuscripts

The journal encourages communication via OJS (Open Journal System). This option speeds up the process of articles submitted. The texts are sent in Word. 

General Format

The articles will be submitted as one electronic file, font: Times New Roman,12, line spacing 1.5 on the entire manuscript, including abstracts, keywords, references, tables and the legends of tables and figures. Margins of 2.5 cm left, right, top and bottom will be respected. All paragraphs of the document should be justified left and right. No tabulation will be used in paragraphs. Avoid presentation work, it complicates the task. 

Formatting of manuscript

In their submission to peer review, articles will be structured as follows: (1) title, (2) a summary in English (followed by keywords in English) (3) text, (4) Acknowledgements (if any) (5) bibliography. 

Title

The title of the publication must be written in English language and submitted in upper case, centered, interline 1.5 in bold. Double space and then write the full names of the authors. Double space and then write their complete addresses. The name of the correspondent author will be marked with "*" give his/her e-mail, telephone and fax number. Live double space before the abstract. 

Summary

Articles should be accompanied by a summary in English. Abstracts will be limited to a paragraph of 5-10 lines maximum.

Keywords

The summary will be followed by three to six keywords that express the essentials of the article. The keywords should not contain words of the title. The keywords should be separated by semicolons.

Text

The text will be divided into introduction / "equipment and methods","results", "discussion", "bibliography" and "acknowledgment". The text does not contain line breaks between paragraphs. 

Tables, figures, maps and photos

Tables and graphs should be inserted in the text. The maps and photographs must be submitted in jpg or gif format.

Equations and Symbols

Special characters (e.g, Greek and symbols) should be inserted using the symbols palette available in MS-Word. Complex equations should be entered using Math -Type or an equation editor. Number consecutively any equations that have to be displayed separately from the text.

Bibliography

All references cited in the text should appear in this section. The references cited in the text should be indicated by a number in brackets. In the bibliography, the references are sorted in ascending order, according to the examples below.

Tables and Figures

The editorial board of the journal reserves the right to make editorial changes he deems necessary in any article accepted for publication,stylistic corrections or clarifications. Authors will be consulted in cases of profound changes.


Plagiarism Policy

Every manuscript submitted for publication in journal of fundamental and applied sciences will be checked for plagiarism, if low plagiarism is detected, the corresponding author will be alerted and asked to either rewrite the text or quote the text exactly and to cite the original source. If at least 10% of the original submission is plagiarized, the article will be rejected.


Ethics

Journal of Fundamental and Applied Sciences is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. If requested, authors must produce original data for inspection by the editor. Possible fraud may be referred to the authors’ institutions. Studies carried out on human subjects, other than measurements in the course of their normal work activities, must have been approved by a competent ethics committee using the standards of the Helsinki Declaration of the World Medical Associationhttp://www.wma.net/en/30publications/10policies/b3/. 
The ethics committee which gave approval must be named in the paper. 
All authors submitting reviews to Journal of Fundamental and Applied Sciences for publication as original articles attest that the submitted works represent their authors’ contributions and have not been copied or plagiarized in whole or in part from other works. The authors acknowledge that they have disclosed all and any actual or potential conflicts of interest with their work or partial benefits associated with it.
Funding and Conflicts of interest. The following must be declared at the time of submission of the paper: the source of financial support for the work; any involvement of the authors in legal testimony or consultancy related to the material in the paper; 
any financial or other recent or expected relationships with a body that could appear to influence what is in the paper, whether or not the content of the paper was discussed with that body; 
any financial interest in products or companies producing products discussed in the paper. 
The first two items on this list, on financial support, legal testimony, and consultancy, must be included in a statement at the end of the paper. These interactions will not necessarily prevent publication, but must be declared.If in doubt, it is better to disclose any possible conflict of interest. 
Government agency funding. For work funded by a government agency, the specific requirements of that funding agency for acknowledgement must be followed. 


Potential reviewers

According to the new peer-review policies of our journal it is mandatory to provide, for each submitted manuscript, the names and the institutional e-mail addresses of at least three potential reviewers/referees who have not been advisors, collaborators or co-authors within the last three years. Ideally the reviewers/referees must have published recently in the area of the paper. Suggesting reviewers with expertise closest to the subject of study will help the editorial office to speed up processing of the submission. As potential reviewers you can draw from researchers you have cited in your manuscript.

Note that the editor retains the sole right to decide whether or not the suggested reviewers are used.



Fees and charges

There are no charges or fees for publication in Journal of Fundamental and Applied Sciences. 

When an article is accepted copyrights are automatically transferred to the Journal of fundamental and applied sciences.

The copyrights of all papers published in this journal are retained by the respective authors as per the 'Creative Commons Attribution License'
